Lookie What Hubby Made Me

I have been bugging hubby to make me a Skein Winder as I can't afford to buy one.

I showed him several winders on the net and then explained to him how it worked and why I needed one. He cut out the parts a few weeks ago and then things popped up so it had to wait.

Then for the Ravelrympics, I entered the Handspun event. I spun until my bobbin was over full. Then oops no way to wind it into a hank. I scrounged up a box and began wrapping away. 2 hours and 141 yards later, I had my hank and a real appreciation for those who have been doing this for years.

It cost nothing to make, all the material used was what we had around the house.
The arm you see sticking out of the main post is a bobbin holder made out of a tent stake. I started to use a dowel rod but it was a little big. So hubby had the idea to use the tent stake (GENIUS) The metal makes the bobbin spin much smoother than wood. I may put a tension knob on it sometime but for now it work great without it.

Then to top it all off, he bought me a storage cabinet for my craft stuff. I had been whining about how all my stuff was in totes and scattered in every room in the house. So off to the store we went and home we came to put it together. Side note why do the instructions for things seem to require a collage degree?

I'm feeling a little spoiled this weekend. I don't know what I ever did to deserve a wonderful man like him.

Huzza!!!

I finished my Ravelympics entries.
I am so tired, I bit off more than I could chew. My poor hands are toast, I need a little break.
All of these are my patterns and that is only my 3rd ever skein of yarn.
As promised I will be posting a free pattern for all of you. But it's not one of these.
Why you might ask, well........ I didn't write down the patterns as I made them.
So in a bit y'all will be getting a brand new pattern.
I took a break on baby projects while the Rave was going on and I will continue to push it back until I have the pattern for you all.
I made baby booties and hat for one of my friends, but I sent it off before taking a picture. Then during the Rave I decided that wasn't enough so I whipped up the blanket you see.
The other friend had her baby Wednesday. She'll be getting her gift a little late as it is taking a very long time. I figured out that by the time I have finished it, it will have taken around 135 hours to complete. As she doesn't crochet, I can say without her knowing what it is, that there were WAY too many color changes for me. You will see what I mean soon (I hope).

Buzy Buzy.......

Well I took a look at D.C's Day Bag. There was only a few small mistakes, mostly typos and extra words. All fixed now. I didn't even have to start a new bag. I'll start a new anyway tho, I want a new color. I think I was just being paranoid when I thought that the bag was way wrong, I got the problem all fixed in about 1/2 hour.

I have dug myself into a huge hole. I have entered into the RaveOlympics, 5 Events. I know I have lost it. But honestly, I have had it with baby stuff. Plus I'm tired of just posting updates. I feel rotten about not posting any new stuff for all you loyal readers.

The big one is Designer's Dash, that is the one I am really looking forward to. I can finally pull out my notebook and whip up something fun. Not that making baby stuff isn't interesting I just get tired of looking at the same stitches over and over again. Plus I missed the baby shower so I don't have to worry about rushing to finish.
So that means all of you will have a new free pattern to look forward after the close of ceremonies. Probably about a week after or so, as it will take time to type it up.

Other than that you most likely wont hear from me until it's all over as I HAVE to spend every second working on my entries. Gook luck to everyone that entered!!!!
