Well, we were new home owners for 5 minutes.
I got to the auction, signed up and anxiously awaited the start. The auctioneer called the start and I called hubby. He asked for an opening bid, nothing. For a moment I thought I was the only person who wanted the house.
After a bit he opened the bidding at 50,000, had a taker and upped it to 60, another bidder. I hollered 65 and then nothing, no one else wanted to bid. I felt like I was going to loose my breakfast. Hubby was on the phone getting really happy.
The seller tried to get the other 2 bidders to bid again but they were done. So I was getting REALLY happy.
The auctioneer went over to the bank rep and talked to him and then came to us. He said straight out that the bid wasn't even close that they had to have 100,000.
There is no way he is going to get that in this market. I hate to say it when he came back with the number I cried. I really wanted that house, but not for 100,000. So my parents and I went over and gave the banker my info, in case they changed their minds.
They then told us they were most likely going to divide the land and sell it separately. If they do that I don't want the place.
About 1/2 hour later hubby got there and we decided to leave. All of the stuff I wanted was only if we had a place to put it. When we didn't get the house, I had to pass on all the large stuff. Our little house is stuffed full, no more room.
My parents stuck it out. It rained and hailed so most everyone left, so my parents got some really good deals.
We will most likely stick it out here another year so we can have a larger down payment. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Just saying Hi
I have nothing really new to report here. Still working on baby presents, so I haven't had time for anything new. My notebook is stuffed full of ideas but no time to make them.
We're heading off to an auction this weekend in hopes of getting a new home. The place needs work but hubby and I are willing to do it because of the land that comes with the house. You know old farm houses. Hubby has his hopes up but I'm trying not to get to excited in case we don't get it.
The house is only about a mile or so from my parents but very far from town, basically a mini farm. I guess we will see after 10 am on Saturday.
